Web5 May 2024 · More recently, Shareck et al. have argued for an equity-oriented settings approach and, reflecting concerns raised in the WHO’s Commission on Social Determinants of Health , Newman et al. have called for health promotion to shift the focus of settings-based work further upstream and to evaluate programmes for differential equity impacts. Webmuch health promotion activity in settings, only a fraction of this addresses one or more social determinants of health. Furthermore, even where settings-based approaches are addressing social determinants, most work reports only on population outcomes and there is a distinct lack of studies which explicitly evaluate the impact on health equity.
