WebIn 1807, the Swansea and Mumbles Railway became the first railway dedicated to passenger transport. The railway used horse-drawn trains until 1897, when steam-powered locomotives took over. Originally, the track ran from Swansea to Oystermouth. Eventually, it was expanded to Mumbles Pier in the 1890s.
